Release 2025.12-R1
Released December 3, 2025.
Saudi National Address compliance
A set of updates to support the Saudi National Address requirements.
New short code field
A dedicated short code field has been added to the address model: address_codes with type SAUDI_SHORT_CODE. Merchants capture the Saudi National Address short code in their sales channels (website, apps) and map it to this field. The value is passed to carriers that support it in their dedicated field.
Short code validation
During shipment booking, if a short code is passed, Carriyo validates the format. The expected structure is 4 letters + 4 digits. If the format is wrong, the shipment moves to an error status; you can then edit the shipment, correct the short code, and rebook.
Short codes passed for any country other than Saudi Arabia are also rejected, short codes are Saudi-only.
Automatic detection of short codes
For clients who currently store the short code in another field as a workaround, Carriyo automatically scans the address and:
- Detects any pattern matching a short code (4 letters + 4 digits).
- Extracts the short code from the address.
- Maps it to the new
address_codesfield. - Passes the value to carriers that support it.
Standard label update
The short code has been added to the Carriyo standard label. It has also been added to custom labels for clients who use them, contact Carriyo to confirm whether your custom label includes this update.
Shipment import and export, file structure change
Two new columns are available in shipment import/export files:
- Dropoff Address Code - Saudi Short Code
- Pickup Address Code - Saudi Short Code
These let you pass the short code for both pickup and drop-off addresses during shipment creation.
Bulk location import, file structure change
The new short code field is also available in the bulk location import file. Carriyo validates the 4 letters + 4 digits format on import; incorrect entries are flagged.
Returns Portal, pickup address update
If you have enabled customer-edited pickup addresses in the Returns Portal, customers now see a short code field when adding a new pickup address. The field is optional, but if a value is entered, Carriyo validates the format.
Aymakan connector
A new connector with Aymakan, a last-mile delivery provider based in Saudi Arabia. Access it under Carrier Accounts.
