Use Shipping rulesets to group related carrier-assignment rules by merchant and pickup country. Rules inside a ruleset inherit those properties from the ruleset, so you only define them once.

An Shipping rule automatically assigns a carrier to a shipment based on shipment attributes. Rules are contained within rulesets. You can configure both for forward and reverse shipments. Carriyo does not allow duplicate rulesets or duplicate rules.

Creating a ruleset

1. Navigate to Automation on the Dashboard. Forward Automations contains rules for shipments from merchant to customer. Reverse Automations contains rules for shipments from customer to merchant. Select the desired section, then click the add button in the top-right corner.

The page shows all existing rulesets for the account. Hover over the number or question mark to see merchant names. The toggle shows whether a ruleset is active or inactive. Enable the toggle next to the search button to show only active rulesets.

2. Give the ruleset a name and specify the pickup countries and merchants. Set the state to active. Carriyo does not allow duplicate rulesets.

3. Click Save. If the ruleset does not appear immediately, click the refresh option in the top-right corner.

Managing rulesets

You can edit or delete a ruleset. The view logs option shows a detailed history of changes, such as newly added or modified rules.

If you save a ruleset for later use without activating it, set its state to inactive. This prevents shipments from being assigned to an unintended carrier. Deactivating a ruleset also deactivates all individual rules inside it. You can reactivate the ruleset when needed.

To create shipping rules inside a ruleset, see Create an shipping rule.
